For couples who believe a wedding doesn't have to be huge to be unforgettable.
Whether it’s a registry office ceremony, a micro wedding or a small celebration with the people who matter most, you deserve beautiful photographs that make the day feel every bit as important as it is.
A smaller guest list doesn’t make your wedding any less important. The laughter, the happy tears, the hugs from family and friends, and the moment you say “I do” deserve to be remembered just as much as any large wedding celebration.
Capturing peoples emotions and little moments that make the day yours”
Small weddings deserve more than a cut-down version of a traditional wedding package.
JPH Weddings is built around registry office, micro and intimate weddings, with flexible coverage that fits the day you’re actually planning.
You’ll know what everything costs, what’s included and what to expect before the wedding. And on the day, you’ll have an experienced photographer who knows when to offer a little direction — and when to simply let the moment happen.
It’s Not About Me… It’s About You
I’m John, the photographer behind JPH Weddings.
As you can probably tell from the photograph, I’ve got a few miles on the clock! But I actually think that works rather well for the kind of weddings I photograph.
I’m relaxed, I don’t flap when things don’t quite go to plan, and I know when to step in and when to quietly stay in the background.
I’ve always believed wedding photography shouldn’t take over your wedding day. My job is to be there when I’m needed, blend in when I’m not, and capture the people and moments that make the day yours.
Of course, we’ll get the family photographs and some lovely pictures of the two of you, but I’m not going to spend your wedding constantly stopping you or putting you into awkward poses. I’d much rather you enjoy yourselves while I get on with capturing it.
And if you hate having your photograph taken? Don’t worry — you certainly won’t be the first. Helping people relax in front of the camera is part of the job.
Whether your wedding is at Stockport Town Hall, elsewhere in Manchester, Cheshire or High Peak, you’ll get the same John — calm, friendly, professional and without unnecessary fuss.

We’re so glad we chose him as our wedding photographer! He was really friendly, easy to get along with and made us feel comfortable from the start. He clearly knew what he was doing and captured the day so well. We couldn’t be happier with the photos and would definitely recommend him!

You certainly don’t have to have one — but think about who will capture the moments you’ll want to remember.
Guests will take plenty of phone pictures, but they’re also there to enjoy your wedding. Having a photographer means nobody has to worry about getting the important photographs, and you’ll both actually be in them together.
Even with just two hours of coverage, we can photograph the ceremony, family and friends, some relaxed photographs of the two of you, and those little moments happening in between.
Your wedding might only last a few hours. The photographs will be with you for years.
For many registry office and micro weddings, two hours is just right.
It usually gives us plenty of time to photograph the ceremony, family and friends, some relaxed photographs of the two of you, and those lovely moments immediately before and afterwards.
Every wedding is different, so before the day we’ll talk through your plans and work out the best time for your photography to start, making sure we get the most from your coverage.
If you’re planning a longer celebration or would simply like more of the day photographed, 3, 4 and 5+ hour collections are also available.
You won’t be the first — most couples tell me they feel exactly the same.
I won’t have you standing around for ages trying to hold awkward poses. I’ll give you a little direction when it helps, particularly for family photographs and a few photographs of the two of you, but otherwise I’ll keep things relaxed and let you enjoy your wedding.
The aim is for your photographs to look like you, not like you’ve spent the day on a photoshoot.
We’re in the UK, so rain is always a possibility — and it certainly doesn’t mean we can’t get great photographs.
If the weather turns, we’ll adapt. We can use sheltered areas, indoor spaces or nearby locations, and often a short break in the weather is all we need to get outside.
Rain can actually add atmosphere to wedding photographs too — umbrellas, reflections and softer light can create some lovely images.
Most importantly, we won’t let a bit of British weather spoil your day.
You won’t have to wait weeks to see your first photographs.
We aim to send you 20+ edited, social-media-ready preview images within 24–48 hours of your wedding, so you’ll have photographs to share with family and friends while the day is still fresh.
Your complete, professionally edited gallery will usually be ready within 3–4 weeks. During particularly busy periods it may take a little longer, but we’ll always keep you updated.
